If you’re anything like me, the winter is a wonderful time. It’s a nice change to see a white blanket of snow covering the ground once a year. But, it gets old rather quickly. I feel like January is about the last month I can tolerate without my flowers. Gardening is one of my favorite hobbies. In the winter months I find myself visiting the local flower shop every other day to find something to fill my home with a flowery fragrance.
Even though I can purchase some flowers when my craving get out of control, there is nothing like the first sign of spring. It automatically brings a smile to my face and I break out the gardening gloves and get planting. Do you find yourself counting down the days of spring xome early January? Well here are some things you can do to make the time go faster and fill your planting needs.
- Grow an indoor garden. Yes my friends. I have a large indoor garden that I maintain in the winter to help me wait it out. This can be done easily by choosing plants that do not require an excessive amount of sunshine.
- Buy flowers! As I mentioned, you can purchase many of the beautiful flowers you enjoy in the springtime right at your local shop. Theres nothing like a familiar smell in the air.
- Create some spring time garden ideas! I’ve spent many winters thinking of different creative ideas for my garden. It is now a work of art that I pride myself on and I owe much of my thanks to the long winter months.
